Lightbulb Moments

“Well, I Go Figured That”

There are certain phrases that become part of the rhythm of your home — words and expressions that sneak into the language of family life without you even noticing.

Apparently, one of ours is “Well, go figure.” My husband and I must say it more than we realized, because lately our daughter Lucy has created her very own version:

“Well, I go figured that.”

She says it with total sincerity, head tilted slightly, hands clasped together like she’s just cracked the case on life’s latest mystery. And every single time, I melt.

There’s something magical about the way kids absorb language — not just words, but cadence, tone, timing. Lucy doesn’t just copy what we say, she makes it her own, adding her bright spark of personality and humor to everyday conversations.

These little moments are what Lucy Says is all about. The unexpected gems, the hilarious misquotes, the honest questions, the pure heart behind it all.

We’ll be sharing more of them here, so stay tuned. And next time life throws you a curveball?

Well, I go figured that!
