🌤️ He Painted the Sky Just for You

“Momma, did you see the beautiful clouds God made for you today?”

That’s what Lucy asked me the other day, and I nearly melted into a puddle of love right there.

She wasn’t just pointing out a pretty sky—she was offering me a glimpse into her heart, and into the faith that’s quietly taking root there.

I love this moment for so many reasons.

First, my daughter knows I love clouds. She’s noticed what delights me. That kind of attentiveness is a gift in itself—proof that she’s not only observing the world around her, but also learning to love others with thoughtfulness and care.

But what truly moved me was her certainty.

She knows that beauty like that comes from God.

She believes that He paints the sky with purpose—that He tucks love into the clouds, the sunsets, the morning light—all because He knows us intimately and delights in bringing us joy.

We’ve taught our kids that whenever you see something that stops you in your tracks—something breathtaking, comforting, or just plain wonderful—it’s not a coincidence.

That moment is a gift.

From the God who made you.

For the joy of your heart.

Because He sees you, He loves you, and He wants you to feel that love in ways both big and small.

A gift doesn’t always come wrapped in ribbon.

Sometimes, it comes wrapped in color and light and drifting sky.

And when we teach our children to recognize those kinds of gifts—the intangible, quiet ones—they grow up with hearts that notice God.

In the everyday.

In the beautiful.

In the ordinary that becomes sacred when we pay attention.

So yes, Lucy, I did see the beautiful clouds God made for me that day.

And I saw the even more beautiful truth that He’s making something special in you too.
