There’s just something timeless about classic literature—and these beautifully illustrated board books are the perfect way to introduce your little ones to the stories that have stood the test of time.

These Baby’s Classics board books are technically geared for children ages 0–3, but we’ve found them to be just as enjoyable well beyond that window. While Lucy’s reading level is far beyond board books at this point, there’s something cozy and nostalgic about curling up on the couch together with one of these tiny tales in hand. They’re short, sweet, and make the big ideas of classic literature approachable and familiar.
We’ve read so many of these together, but one of our absolute favorites is The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. We started reading the board book version when Lucy was between 2 and 4 years old, and by the time she turned 5, we jumped into the full Chronicles of Narnia series. She was thrilled that she already “knew” the characters—and I’m convinced that early familiarity helped her better understand the plot, personalities, and deeper meanings in the longer version.
These books are more than just simplified retellings—they’re truly beautiful. The illustrations are thoughtful and artistic, and the prose captures the essence of each story in just a few meaningful pages.

Here are a few of our favorites:
📘Anne of Green Gables
🐾The Jungle Book
🧚♀️Peter Pan
🛶Tom Sawyer
🌪️The Wizard of Oz
🦁The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
… and coming to our shelf this fall: 🧛🏻♂️Dracula and 🧟♂️Frankenstein!

These are great for storytime, make wonderful gifts, and they quietly build a bridge from babyhood to the classics your children may love for a lifetime.
