Glowing + Growing

Little Hands, Big Heart

The other day while I was on the phone, I noticed Lucy crouched down, scrubbing the floor with such determination. Turns out, while I was vacuuming, a little piece of a purple colored pencil got caught and left a big streak across the floor. Without anyone telling her to, Lucy immediately got to work.

She didn’t wait for me to fix it. She didn’t even ask how to fix it. She just tried. The first thing she tried didn’t work, so she regrouped, adjusted, and kept going until she figured out a way.

I stood there watching her—this little girl who is growing into such a capable young lady. She sees a problem, and instead of freezing or complaining, she confidently works toward a solution.

We’ve always taught our kids that taking care of our home is one way we thank God for the blessings we’ve been given. And in that moment, I could see her really living it out.

I’m so proud of her. And so grateful that God entrusted me with a daughter whose heart is so willing to help and whose spirit shines so bright. 💜
