Christians, It Doesn’t Matter What We Think — That’s Why We Have the Bible

In today’s world, confusion runs rampant. Children are growing up surrounded by mixed messages about identity, truth, and purpose. But as Christians, we don’t have to be confused — because God has already given us His Word.

The truth is, it doesn’t matter what we think. It matters what God says. The Bible makes it abundantly clear that He created us intentionally and beautifully — male and female, in His image, with purpose and design. He does not make mistakes.

When our children question who they are or where they belong, our job is not to mirror the culture’s confusion but to gently and confidently point them back to their Creator. Every child will wrestle at some point with the question, “Am I enough as I am?” That’s where we, as parents, step in — reminding them that their value doesn’t come from how they feel, what they achieve, or what others say about them, but from who God made them to be.

Jesus Himself spoke strong words about protecting the hearts of children:

“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” — Matthew 18:6

That’s a sobering reminder of how seriously God takes our influence as parents and teachers.

At the same time, our call isn’t to judge, but to love — to love our children enough to tell them the truth, even when it’s unpopular. To love our neighbors enough to treat them with compassion while standing firm in what’s right. To love God enough to trust that His design is always good.

We all wrestle with wishing we were different at times — taller, stronger, more athletic, more gifted — but contentment grows when we focus on gratitude instead of comparison. The same is true for our children. When they know they were created on purpose, by a loving God, they can walk confidently in who they are.

So, let’s stay rooted in the Word, parents. When the world says “find your truth,” we can say, “We already have it.” And we can raise our children to believe, live, and love from that truth.

Because it doesn’t matter what we think — it matters what God has spoken.
