Math, Culture & Multiplication: Learning Through the World

Lucy has officially started two-digit by one-digit multiplication—and I could not be more proud of her! 💛

Math and mookie (aka milk)—what better way to start the morning? 🧮🥛

We’re currently working through The Good and The Beautiful math curriculum (Level 3), and this program continues to amaze me with how it blends strong academics with meaningful enrichment.

Each unit in the curriculum follows a fictional family from a different part of the world. Right now, we’re journeying through India. This storyline has given Lucy such a gentle, thoughtful introduction to another culture—she’s learning the names of people, the food they eat, the currency they use, and the landmarks they live near. It’s a subtle but beautiful exposure to global understanding and empathy, all while building strong math foundations.

Today’s lesson even included a game called Multiplication Tour where we rolled dice and multiplied our way around a map of India, traveling through cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. 🧠🎲🕌

Between hands-on math practice, cultural exploration, and a whole lot of fun—this curriculum is truly a gift in our homeschool.

📚💫 We love you, The Good and The Beautiful!
